Check Out This Fantastic Long Exposure Trick for Portraits

When you think of portraits, you probably do not think of long exposures. But incorporating long exposures can be a fantastic way to give your portraits a very unique look that stands out from the crowd. This great video will show you how to create an eye-catching engagement portrait the incorporates motion from a long exposure for a striking look.

Coming to you from our good friend, Pye Jirsa, over at SLR Lounge, this awesome video will show you how he shot and edited an awesome motion-infused long exposure engagement portrait. It is not just good enough to be technically apt with a camera nowadays; you need to be able to provide a creative angle that helps you stand out from the crowd. One thing I love about this technique is how the static, sharp couple instantly pops among the blurry cars. I also find it interesting how the angles of the cars create leading lines that funnel the viewer's eyes straight to the subject. It is certainly an eye-catching technique. Of course, you will need a tripod for this kind of shot, and you should also be extremely careful to keep both yourself and your subjects safe. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Jirsa.
