The Healing Power of Photography

It can be easy to get caught up in the stresses of being a photographer, whether that is dealing with clients, vitriol on social media, or something else. And because of that, it can be easy to lose sight of your love for photography. When that happens, though, it is important to return to the fundamentals of the pursuit and remind yourself why you picked up a camera in the first place.

Coming to you from aows, this great video is a useful reminder of the healing power of photography. No doubt, it can be stressful to be a photographer, perhaps now more than ever. And unfortunately, those stresses can often drive us away from the thing we love. No doubt, all of us picked up a camera for the first time because we loved the technical challenge and the creative outlet. Rather than running away from the pursuit when that happens, I think that is the time when we should lean back into it by returning to the most basic experience of photography: simply being out with our camera without expectations of results or the need to please a client or audience. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
