Helpful Posing Tips for Men

Most portrait photography tutorials focus on photographing women, but of course, the vast majority of photographers will spend their careers photographing men in addition to women. This fantastic video tutorial will give you a lot of very practical and helpful tips for posing men and getting better portrait photos.

Coming to you from our good friend, Pye Jirsa, with Adorama TV, this excellent video tutorial discusses some helpful tips for posing men. Posing is one of the most difficult things for many photographers to master, and many of us spend years working on it before we feel really comfortable with it. Whereas things like camera settings are objective and quantifiable, the more subjective nature of posing and its many nuances make it tricky. That being said, it helps to have a few poses you know work in your back pocket before you head to a shoot. This will help you ensure you come home with some keepers and take some pressure off you in the moment, then you can work on some more organic, real-time ideas once you know you already have what you need to make the shoot successful. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Jirsa.
