Helpful Tips for Getting More Photos in Focus

Few things are more important when it comes to making a successful photo than getting it in focus. This fantastic video tutorial will show you a range of tips and settings to increase your chances of getting an image sharply in focus.

Coming to you from Photo Genius, this great video tutorial will show you a variety of tips and tricks for setting up your camera to more effectively focus images. A lot of modern cameras have highly advanced autofocus systems, and with those capabilities come a lot of customization. As such, it is well worth taking the time to get to know your specific body's autofocus systems, even digging into your manual a bit, as most cameras ship with the autofocus set to a general purpose mode that will be competent (if not ideal) for the majority of scenarios you encounter. On the other hand, you likely only shoot a few specific genres, and tweaking the camera's parameters to more effectively align with your subject material will help you get more keepers. For example, I saw my keeper rate jump from around 60% to almost 90% when I made some baseball-specific changes to my cameras. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
