Helpful Tips for Introverted Photographers

Watch any successful photographer work, and you will notice that they are either an extrovert or very good at playing the part of one. The simple truth is that many of us are introverts, however, and it can be very difficult for us to work with people. This great video will give you some helpful tips for being a photographer as an introvert.

Coming to you from Taylor Jackson, this excellent video gives some great tips for introverted photographers. If you are working in any sort of genre that requires you to photograph people, it can take a lot of effort and energy just to get through a shoot and can be extremely difficult to maximize your creative potential if you are constantly fighting through things like social anxiety. A lot of the time, you will find advice on how to force your way into being an extrovert, but I do not particularly like that method, as I find it to be even more exhausting being someone I am not. Rather, I have found that it works best to embrace my personality and simply tweak the way I interact with people to find a manner of shooting that works for both my subjects and my personality. This tends to be a much more sustainable manner of shooting in the long run. Check out the video above for lots of helpful tips from Jackson.

Interesting tips. I believe that once person becomes a photograph, he or she just has to communicate with different people thus developing their social skills :)

"I have found that it works best to embrace my personality and simply tweak the way I interact with people to find a manner of shooting that works for both my subjects and my personality." Best piece of advice on the topic right there. I don't think its good to try and force yourself into being something that you're not.

I have Asperger's, I'm sort of OK one to one, but I could never shoot with other photographers

Thanks for sharing this tips. I will certainly take my photography skills to another level after this corona virus issue.
