How to Create Light and Airy Photos Using Lightroom

The light and airy look is a highly popular style with clients, as it evokes a sense of love and lightness. The mistake photographers commonly make with this style, however, is assuming it means just overexposing a portrait. The real trick to the look is a careful editing approach, and this fantastic video tutorial will show you every step you need to take to create it using Lightroom.

Coming to you from Nate Torres Photography, this excellent video tutorial will show you how to create the light and airy portrait style using Lightroom. This look is particularly popular with wedding clients, as that light and happy feeling perfectly complements the feelings of a day of love, meaning that even if it isn't your personal preference, it is worth learning the style. As you will notice, it is best to plan for this sort of editing style when you take the photos. Just like any other, trying to push the edit too far to force it into existence can be problematic. Generally, photos that are already light (particularly those with lots of sunlight streaming through the frame) make for the best candidates, as you are just enhancing what is already there. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Torres.
