It might seem like a silly question, but there are times where you will look at the images on the back of your camera and it will not be entirely clear if you have a keeper. So, how can you tell when you have taken a worthwhile photo? This excellent video tutorial discusses what to look for when evaluating your images.
Coming to you from James Popsys, this great video discusses how to know if you have taken a good image. Part of the trouble is that nowadays, the final image we create is often significantly different from the one we first took due to large amounts of post-processing. Sometimes, an image that seems kind of mediocre on the rear LCD actually holds a ton of potential when some editing is applied to it. And with the higher and higher resolutions of modern sensors, a single image actually leaves you with a lot of different final compositional possibilities via cropping. Because of this, when I am culling my images, I like to have Lightroom apply some basic adjustments upon import to bring them a bit closer to what a full edit would look like. This tends to make it much easier to make my selections. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Popsys.
