The Power of Persistence in Getting the Photos You Want

Photography can be a frustrating pursuit, particularly when you don't come home with the image you wanted. That's when a bit of persistence can really be your best friend in helping you get the shots you want.

Coming to you from Adam Gibbs, this awesome video talks about how his own persistence helped him overcome a photo he wasn't totally satisfied with by returning to the location and shooting it again. Sometimes, especially with landscape photography, the elements just don't cooperate, no matter how prepared you are. I've certainly been guilty in such circumstances of trying to force the photo I wanted and edit it into existence, and inevitably, I'm always annoyed at the time I wasted in doing so. Other times, you simply might mess something up or not like the creative choices you made after the fact. Whatever the reason, being willing to return to a location and exercise the patience to wait for the right conditions to appear or to fix whatever mistakes you made can be really rewarding when you finally get the shot you really were looking for, and it teaches you to slow down a bit when you're working. Stay patient and persistent!
