When you think of landscape photography, you probably think of using wide angle lenses. No doubt, these are normally the lenses of choice for most landscape work, but that does not mean that telephoto lenses do not have their place too. This excellent video discusses why landscape photographers should also own a telephoto lens.
Coming to you from First Man Photography, this great video discusses why landscape photographers should own and use a telephoto lens. Most of us probably reach for a wide angle lens for landscape work, and that is for good reason: most landscape scenes demand a wide angle of view to capture everything, That being said, a telephoto lens can be fantastic for picking off individual elements of a scene to create more abstract shots (which can also set your work apart) or to take advantage of compression to bring distant elements closer together. And the great thing about landscape photography is that you can get lots of different images from the same subject and location. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
