Hi Franklin,
I feel that the focus on the cactus overrides the open cut mine which is far more interesting in terms of the image.
Perhaps offsetting the cactus to one of the thirds line (the left one in this case) would reduce its impact.
And what if the 3 corners had NOT been blurred out in post?
