This photo is a composite of two exposures during my last trip through Namibia.
I‘ve photographed the foreground just after sunset to get the rocks of Spitzkoppe Mountain nicely illuminated. Without moving the camera, the Milky Way started appearing a few hours later.
The complete darkness of the african night helps bringing out all the stars.
Our campsite was just a few yards from the camera.
