We did 8 hours hike into one of New Zealand national parks. I didn't plan to take night pictures, but it was so incredible night sky without moon that I can't resist to spend couple hours under the stars. Mountains and stars. Enjoy!

Congratulations to the winners!
NZ has amazing skies, its on my bucket list for surf, mountain bike and star gaze / astro photography.
You just need more exposure time on this, im sure it was dark as heck out there! What settings did you use? I can also make out a faint Magellanic Cloud
That's a good point! I was going to buy shutter cord for ages but still don't have one. Therefore I used max exposure time built in my camera. Unfortunately it's only 30 seconds.
It also wasn't absolutely dark there. As you can see orange lights on the horizon. Not sure how it would look like with few minutes exposure.
Thanks for the advice!
