Actually I find the Moon distracting. My eye keeps getting pulled to it and away from the pier.

I think I prefer more contrast, and possibly a crop that brings the end of the pier closer to the other side of the frame. I like the concept.

Love the effect you're going for with this... I just wish you had levelled your horizon. Other than that I love the feel - the low contrast works for me. Take the pic and just rotate it a bit to level it off and I think its solid.
