I'm new to this. Please help me gett better.
I'm not in the slightest a professional photographer, especially when it comes to portraits but here's my personal and subjective opionion.
For me the jacket is the biggest issue. It's a sporty piece of clothing yet she doesn't seem to be doing any sports at the moment, mainly because her hair is not tied. Choosing more of a classic top for her would make a big improvement.
You could use some lighting from the bottom left to show more of her neck which appears to be really nice.
The crop is too tight for me; her hair is nice and cropping parts of it out doesn't serve any purpose.The background should stay blurry but it could perhaps contain something slightly distinguishable.

Keep experimenting and looking through other contest entries for inspiration. Watch video tutorials on portrait lighting and post processing.
