I had waited nearly a year to photograph the wild flowers at mount st Helens. I had seen countless amazing photos of the wild flowers at this location and had been counting down the days till I could take my own. Finally i got my chance, I arrived early to Johnson ridge and spent 3 hours hiking around the area trying to find a composition, which proved much harder then I thought. I had the hardest time finding a patch of flowers that I liked in a location that I liked. Finally after hours of searching i decided to go with this spot and shoot really wide and close to the flowers. I scrambled to refine my composition as the light was already really good at this point, finally 10 min before the best light came I settled on this composition which now is one of my all time favorite photos I have taken.
