Beautiful Zaanse Schans, Netherlands, in dreamy evening light. It did not look like getting anything at all when I arrived; just dull light and swarms of tourists. It all just turned beautiful during sunset though. No tourists and simply perfect light. Lucky me. And a good reason to share this version of the often shot spot.

Very nice shot indeed. Is it distorded a bit or is it me (the lamppost isn't vertical) ? Without this, it'd be a 4 no problem. In fact you can almost predict what they're gonna say on the video : "remove the sign below the tree with photoshop" "I wished the windmill on the left wasn't obscured by the tree" etc... No matter, it is what it is, a great photo to me.

Thanks a lot, Nick. I very much appreciate you taking your time to observe and critique my image.
It’s not distorted, actually. Look at the lines of the building. The light post oddly enough just stands that way. I don’t know if a car or anything hit it. And I refused ‘cleaning’ that up. I pondered the sign, indeed, but left that, too, in the end to keep it more like I found it.

OK no worries, I respect not retouching the sign, I'm against removing stuff myself (not to mention that you would have had to remove it from the reflection as well...).

Very moody.

Superb image Kai!

Only a 3.3 average? This image is at least a 4! I don't get the community sometimes.
