The smoke from the Donnell Fire, about 1/2 mile visibility in some areas, so instead of hiking to a vista for sunrise I hike about 2 miles to a amazing grove of sequoia trees. The smoke was still thick enough and the sun was still low enough that I was able to get some unique sunbeams.
