When I saw the thumbnail in the collage of submissions, I thought someone had entered a color-coded computer render of an architectural plan. It took me a few seconds to figure out what I was looking at even after I viewed the full size photo. And you know what? I fucking love it. Thank you for showing me something so ordinary in a way I’ve never seen before. I don’t think it’s a five-star photo, but I can’t think of any way in which it could be better. Good luck!

I though the very same. :D
Well almost, I though it was some color coded 3D motor plan.

Sad for the top-right corner. Have you tried recreating in the missing part?
(Edit: I just tried quickly. You can take a sample on the left, copy-paste as an extension (with a slight resizing and rotation), use a stamp with a soft brush to clean the transition to the sample. Good results in ~5 minutes.)

I missed that until well after I had reviewed this image, but I'm not changing my reaction. :) I think the top could be cropped off and the image would still work.

In fact a crop (and still a slight easy correction) might be even better by ensuring the symmetry between top & bottom cropping lines.

But it's the slight lack of symmetry that I think adds to the surreal imagery. Instead of the camera placement halfway between the "roof" and "floor" of the implied structure, it's placed where my head might be if I were standing just outside the entrance. If that makes sense. :)

Yeah I think I may have uploaded the wrong file because the version I have posted on my portfolio isn’t that way. There was a beam that I removed and continued the curved structure to the edge. It’s a shame I can’t change the upload, but oh well
