I spent 6 weeks documenting the ins and outs of a metal fabrication shop in Chicago this past winter. Though the welder's identity is obscured by his mask, the objects around him provide context clues as to what he and the rest of the welding team are like.

I like all the little details in the foreground but I wish the focus in this image was on the welding rather than the cigarette
