Before we head to the Ceremony we went to see the Bride's grandfather who had had an accident weeks before the wedding. Couple weeks after this shoot I was photographing his funeral.

It definitely tells a story without needing context. I think the image could be improved by taking the sign and ventilation out in PS, but that is debatable since you are telling real life.
I might agree with the sign. But I would keep everything else. Just because the sign over his shoulder does add a slight distraction.
