2.63 - "Solid"

I took this image at 2.30am in the night while the wedding party was in full swing. There was some mist surrounding the castle which made the lights look stunning - contrasting the night sky. Bride and groom were brave enough to step outside in the cold for a couple of minutes to capture this shot. Of course I set up the camera and flash beforehand so they didn't have to shiver for too long. ;-)

Okay, this is pretty amazing- more in the"epic" category than most in this contest. Creative for sure. Well done? Hmm. Needs some work but very creative.

Thanks. As for the editing and needs some work: That might be but this was just something I wanted to try and part of hundreds of photos to edit and get done for the wedding album - not a staged portfolio shoot. So I won´t spend an extra ordinary amount of time on one image. ;)
But for the 5-10 min that I had the couple outside in the middle of the night I am really really happy with the result.

One more thing: Needs some work is so general. Tell me specifically what you don't like please. This way - if I feel the same - I can improve those things next time. :)

Yes, of course, I should have followed through with my comment. I feel the light sources at the left and right, and under the roof eaves at the left, are too blown-out and distracting. For having spent only a few minutes on this photo it is a remarkable shot. I even like the effect of the lens distortion.

Yes, that's actually something that annoys me as well. So you got a good point there. The lights illuminating the castle were extremely bright and I didn't have a shot that was underexposed as much as to counter it effectively. :-/
I took that photo a couple of years ago (4 or so) and still had a lot to learn. :-D
Thanks again for the constructive criticism!
