Taken at Old Santee Canal Park in Berkley County S.C. This beauty was very chill and laid back. I would have used a shorter focal length but honestly I was not expecting to see any snakes out due to the temps being in the 50s so I only brought 1 lens with me.

Love the eye, would be great to see the detail on the full resolution shot.

Thank you. The eye on this side has/had some amazing color to it. Also the reason I wish I had taken the macro lens with me. The eye on the other side was lost to a disease (snake fungal disease) so it honestly is a tale of polar opposite for the eyes.

Love this. the only thing that bothers me is that one piece of stick protruding pointing out of the frame just below his head. When I hold my finger over it to remove it I think it improves focus on the snakes head.

I 100% agree with you. Without a snake hook or something that I could have used to keep some distance in between me and fangs of this guy and risking a few nights in the hospital I felt it best to let them stay in the frame. I could work on cloning the items out but I would rather have them in as it was true to scene. Also this guy is in-situ so I did not want to disturb it either.
