With photo shoot planning you often talk about a project for months before ever seeing the the project in person to either scout or to photograph. This project we talked about for years and it was something I didn't think would ever happen. We started talking about photographing some part of this project in 2012, but everything was so phased and we finally were able to photograph it in 2019. When we arrived we started walking the project and met with all the stakeholders. After spending half the day just looking at this massive 2 million sf building we had to get photographing. This is the first shot we set up while our team was prepping some other spaces. The sun popped out for maybe 5 minutes and these amazing shadows/highlights we cast onto the terracotta panels. I think this was just 1 or 2 exposures blended together and the people added from other frames. Photographer and assistant used to populate the space because of the empty building and the rush to capture the light.
