My friend, collaborator, and fellow artist @maxine_thirteen and I created this painterly Edwardian-era portrait for Halloween. She already had a great vintage-inspired dress she found while thrifting, so we put it to work for this shot.

This was lit with a beauty dish for key in the center with a flag providing the shadow on the subject's right. There is a 40" softbox for fill camera right and a background light for the canvas backdrop.

Beautiful. Clean. Love how haunting and elegant she looks. How the clothes have drape and not wrinkles is a small but quite powerful and skillful detail.
I love how you use old photos in new modern look without trying to reproduce old photography and sepia.

Thank you! I do feel like sometimes the sepia look can seem a bit gimmicky, so I'm aiming for something a bit timeless in these. I appreciate your detailed feedback on my work!

That is a really beautiful picture. It looks like a painting. Love the mood.
