This is the oldest statue in Tampere. It dates back to 1830. It's located next to Finlayson factory district. Next to the statue is two plates that have carvings in Latin that speak about hard work, fatherland, pure waters (rapids) and past generations.
One day I was passing the statue and saw this seagull sitting on the wings of the eagle. In Finnish seagull is called lokki. Lokki is also a slang word for "a "freeloader". I stayed around 5min within the statue and took multiple photos of the bird. Then I just combined to the photos in Photoshop.
I don't know if this is clever, funny or even 1 star worthy but at least this "concept" made me chuckle. Once. Here we have this age old statue, build to remind about the hard times and so on. And today probably no one knows it's origin and it's been shat on by seagulls. π€·ββοΈ
