Chipmunk Kings Canyon National Park, California. In 2017, my wife and I took a road trip from San Diego to Denver, visiting national parks. We had just been to see the General Grant tree and there were a number of chipmunks scurrying around near the parking lot. This one was too intent on foraging to run from me. In the two weeks, seven parks, and over 3,000 miles driven this picture of a chipmunk by a parking lot is probably the photographic highlight. Handheld D600 with Nikon 200-500.
