Accuser and redeemer - I was walking along a beach in Dili, Timor Leste when I chanced upon this scene. (The statue of Christ on the distant headland (Cristo Rei) looms large over Dili - it is 27m tall. It was a gift from Indonesia to mark the 20th year of its occupation of Timor Leste. The locals, despite being predominantly Christian, are understandably ambivalent about the statue.)
