Adam in Fog.
Robert Allerton was an artist and philanthropist who travelled the world collecting art that was displayed in his manor and in the formal gardens he built on the estate. In the 1940s, he donated the property to the University of Illinois to turn into a park.
Allerton commissioned the Adam statue in the style of Rodin's Adam and sits at the center of the formal gardens. The original was destroyed by someone climbing on it, and the version photographed here is a reproduction of the original.
I shot this on a foggy St. Patrick's Day morning when a beam of sunlight broke through the clouds, illuminating Adam.
