2.85 - "Solid" 

It's quite rare to see the aurora as far south as Washington state, but I saw a great forecast and drove 3 hours to Paradise and captured the magenta bands over 14,400-foot Mount Rainier looking north. Magenta is also pretty rare reaction with oxygen and nitrogen in the higher atmosphere. I used a Nikon D750 with 11-18 Tamron APS-C lens at 18mm which enlarges the image circle to fill the full frame sensor. The trees are lit with a flashlight during this long 72 second f/5.6 ISO 2500 exposure. Processed in Lightroom to bring the trees vertical.
