This photo is of a buffalo on the edged of the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone national park. The buffalo is standing its ground to visitors, blocking them from entry into the Lamar Valley where the annual buffalo rut is occuring.
This shot was taken with a Nikon D850 and Sigma 150-600mm. Post processing includes desaturation of the the people, vehicles, and background while leaving the wildlife in full color as a visual representation of this being "their territory/world", and the visitors being disconnected guests.
I like this one. maybe crop it thigher to crop out the girl with the camera, she doesn't at to the picture. i like the smile on the face of the woman in the truck too :)
Thank you for the feedback!
Honestly, I felt the girl with the camera added a lot to the overall tone of the photo. From my perspective it feels like she passively highlights the almost "amusement park-esque" nature of Yellowstone.
I.e. it's almost as if she is blissfully unaware that a multi-ton beast is in a way, seemingly guarding the Lamar Valley, as she snaps pictures of whatever other animals are nearby.
Either way, I appreciate the notes!
I think the girl does add something to the photo, as does the row of cars behind. If I were going to crop anything it would probably be on the right side of the image
