I have lived in Cape York, Australia for 8 years and have tried to capture this behavior ever since I saw the goanna do it for the first time (I had never seen a goanna do this before). I managed to snap a few blurry phone pics, but never managed anything worth sharing. Because it is so rare, I never have the camera around when they do it. So I was stoked when the stars aligned as such, and this was the result.
Shot with A7IV, 70-200 f2.8 Sony lens. Basic colour correcting and cropping in lightroom
