This is a portrait of a Cope's Vine Snake, lying on a Heliconia rostrata flower.
I wanted to create a moody scene, so I accentuated the D&B process in Photoshop to shape light and give a dark red velvet look.
I wish the snake nose was a bit sharper, however the depth of field is quite thin and as long as the eye is sharp, I'm happy with it.
I love the complementary colors between the flower and the snake/background.
Photoshop was used to post-process the picture: precise crop, D&B, color fine tuning, quite some cleaning on the flower to remove dirt, and imperfections, etc.
