Burrowing owls of Antelope Island State Park in Utah. I spent about a year mapping out all artificial burrowing owl nests all over the island and watching this little family go from fledgling to fully grown adults.
Even when sneaking up from a mile off they will still see you and fly off, but I luckily was able to stalk up and shoot this one who spent a few minutes posing for me.
Shot on Sony A7RIV + 200-600G. 600mm 1/2500, f/6.3 ISO 500 on a RRS Tripod
