This was part of a series of images I shot way back in 2010 of our dogs. This was our boy, Bishop, and he was not keen on his portrait being taken, but we managed to get some good headshots regardless.
He was positioned in our yard, and I had the camera in the lounge. We did this so that he was at least in a familiar environment as well as to take advantage of it being nighttime to get the black background. I placed two 1000w Hensels 2m away on either side of him and I think I had them at half power and they were fired by radio remote.
He was the best grumpy dog in the universe.
