One of 6 critically endangered Red Wolf puppies born in early 2022, (5 of which are still with us) in a soybean field just after sunrise in October of 2022.
At the time this was taken there were less than 20 of these animals left in the wild in the entire world all of them in Northeastern North Carolina. In 2023 this pups parents gave birth again to another little of 5 with a 6th pup successfully fostered into the pack. Unfortunately the father of these two litters was struck by a vehicle and did not survive.
