This is a female Falcated Duck (Anas falcata). That days adventure was to hopefully capture a picture of a kingfisher (he was sitting on a branch just behind me it seems) and found this beauty. It was taken just after sunrise but while the sun hasn’t yet risen to above the mountains. This was taken in northern Japan a few hundred meters from the Pacific Ocean in early December. I was in my homemade floating hide (maiden voyage lol) with a canon R7 and sigma Ef 150-600 contemporary via an adapter. Settings were 600mm f6.3 at 1/200 shutter speed. As for editing, I cropped in some, denoised the image, did a little brightening of the photo/eye and very minor (mainly white balance related) color adjustments. I believe this was everything. Thanks for your consideration.
