I captured this image while out on a dolphin watching trip just a few miles off the coast, in Lagos, Portugal. It was July and on this day the sea was very calm and had no wind, which is rare. These conditions made the water look almost like glass. We were lucky to be approached by a small group of dolphins ( Delphinus delphis) and this mother and calf came very close to the boat for a moment. I captured this moment while they were together coming up to breath and almost cutting the surface of the water. I used a nikon D750 and a nikkor 50mm 1.4 D lens.
It was a very special moment where everything came perfectly together.
