2.45 - "Needs Work"

This was in October of 2023 on our trip to Kenya in the Masai Mara. This male lion was a part of a larger pride that killed and devoured a buffalo recently. We believe he is the leader of the pride and was about 10 yards from their kill. Meanwhile his pride mates were about 200 yards away cooling off in a pond. We were viewing his pride mates in the pond which was very unusual when I saw this male get up on the termite mound. Our driver quickly drove across the road to and I got this shot. Shortly after this shot he left the kill and joined his pride mates in the pond. Truly amazing day.
