Asian Koel (Eudynamys scolopaceus) in Tura, Meghalaya, India. This skulker regularly visits gardens. It is a bird that is more often heard than seen. According to the State of India's birds (SoIB) 2023 report, the Asian Koel population has increased in the past three decades. This photo was taken from the balcony, in front of our bedroom window. I knew that I got the shot that I had in mind when I pressed the shutter button. The light through the leaves is what makes this photo special I guess.
