Moody Lighting

Industrial port at night. I took this frame more than 25 years ago. It shows an industrial port in Mannheim, Germany at night. We had a dense fog advisory and I decided to go to the location at 3am when there was less traffic. The photo was taken with an analog camera and Velvia film. To capture the scene I used a 20mm wide-angle lens. White balance didn't exist in the analog days hence the color cast caused by the artificial lights. Later the slide was scanned using a Nikon Coolscan 5000ED. The fog provided a mystic atmosphere and partially shrouded the industrial scenery. Much is left to the viewer's imagination.
