Moody Lighting

This is a shot from a promo shoot with an actor. It was shot in studio with two lights. The key is a strobe in a 5' octabox just above the frame, between the camera and the subject. I put the egg crate grid on the softbox to control the spill, but pulled the grid off of the corner of the box closest to the camera for extra fill. The second light was a strobe with an optical spot and breakup gobo placed above and behind the subject, pointed down at the floor. I added some fog to pick up the light beams.
