This photograph captures a massive wave crashing against the rugged cliffs of Shore Acres State Park, outside of Coos Bay, Oregon.

Taken during the King Tides of January 2022. This image showcases the raw power of the ocean. The weather was relentless. It poured rain for eight hours. The winds were so strong I could barely keep my footing. The conditions were unforgiving. One of my friend’s lens was damaged, and my gear was completely soaked. Despite the challenges, I relished every moment and I’ve returned every year since.
