As we visited our daughter and granddaughter in Utah, I wanted to take her photographs wearing a new jacket her mother made for her. I had my Canon PowerShot G9 camera, with a Canon flash and remote trigger. As she sat on the dining table and wiggled around, I took probably 50-60 frames. The harmony among the background, her coat, and her hair colors was striking.
Her pose and the lighting reminded me of medieval paintings with her piercing look at me. After the capture, I edited the image to remove a few strands of threads, minimal tonal editing, and a good amount of edge burning to push her forward. I also slightly increased the overall warmth of the image to accentuate the regal medieval mood!
