It had been an entire year since I had picked up my camera. Depression go the best of me, and I was no longer creative. I was looking for new things to try to reignite that spark I once had. I came across ICM, or intentional camera movement, and found it fascinating. It was something way outside of my comfort zone, because I work with people and do astrophotography. But I was willing to try it.

This was an on the whim thing that my husband said we should go out and do. We went to the beach, a place of solace and comfort for us, and the dunes were brilliantly lit by the setting sun. So I tried to do some ICM. I will say that it's not as easy as it looks, because the movement, timing and what not, all play a major role in how the outcome looks.

I cannot tell you how many I took before I got this shot. But I loved the way it looked, but felt it in BW would look better. Yes, my sensor was dirty as hell from being in a dusty old bag. But I suppose it gave it character!

Taken with a Nikon Z7II and Nikon Z 24-70 f/2.8 S

Love it, if you didn't mention dust, I was thinking Aspen trees.
