I have this photograph in the FStoppers Community Group: Minimalism, Abstract, Experimental (and more...) for the groups July Challenge “Minimalism”. Lee Morris mentioned at the end of June’s critique the community Abstract was going to be the theme I knew I wanted to enter this.

This photo is of three colored 9” x 12” x 1/16” foam pads in the foreground and a white cardstock as the “distant” background.

I wanted to include a nice curve along with straight lines which involved bracing, blocking, along with blue painter’s tape. I chose ambient lighting from left and right and incorporated directional shading and defusing.
