This image was part of a series of images I began to create shortly after I began my teaching career. During a lesson, I spoke to my students about Wabi Sabi photography, and to inspire them, I went out to create these images.

In reality this is very simple and boring scene. It's a photograph of fluorescent light tubes lighting a covered car port at a local hotel. Photographed during the blue hour in the early morning, I used both zoom blur and a slight ICM to draw the light from tubes outwards towards me.

The equipment was my Canon 7D with a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens with the exposure set to 2 seconds, f/16 at ISO 100.
