Patchwork of ice. During my April 2024 visit to Svalbard, I spent many hours onboard our stationary ship looking for wildlife. One particular evening, I took advantage of a lull to fly the drone (a Mavic 3 classic) and capture some aerial images.
A few hundred meters away from the ship, I stumbled upon this mosaic of ice at different stages of formation. The variety of shapes and tones and the few patches of deep black open water caught my eye and made for one of my favourite images for the trip.
