During Covid I was playing around with some hard light with direct on camera fill while capturing some electronics. It's not the most "abstract" photo posted but it kind of has a fine art meets abstract feel.

Camera is obviously shooting straight down with a strobe to camera left firing across the frame for the shadows. Big softbox placed behind camera giving all the metal a clean highlight. Background swapped in post and I played around with a lot of different stock colors, textures and gradients but wound up with this salmon color for this particular shot.

OMG!
This is by FAR the best image in the contest!!!
I'd voted 6 stars if that was an option.

I do hope my kiss-assing will, in no way, influence the judges.

🤣

Ha it won't make the final images but I just wanted to submit for fun

All joking aside it’s an interesting concept. Fun use of hard lighting makes it more impactive. 👍

The colored background and shadow gives the feeling of a commercial product photograph. Cropping somewhere inside the corners with the four holes, eliminating some degree of context, would add to the abstraction, in my opinion. Black and white might take it a step further.
