I took this photo a few years ago on the campus of the Design School I attended in Provo, UT. This sculpture was done by one of my instructors, Frank Nakos, who did his Masters Degree work at Cal State Long Beach featuring many similar studies using concrete planes including this one he called "The Tree of Wisdom". This was taken on an early summer morning capturing the dramatic shadows and subtle textures at the base of this large sculpture using a Nikon D850 and a Tamron 24-70mm as I recall. The photo doesn't do justice to the entire sculpture which changes from stylized roots growing upward to a tree trunk but when approaching the same sculpture from the opposite side it evokes images of a fully grown tree going down to the trunk. I like to capture details like this that most people merely walk past without seeing this. For the most part this was cropped in camera.

I like the way the pattern heads off to a vanishing point... & the bulk contrast between the black and white... and the a nice graduation of greys in the upper left triangle...
Not bad Scott!
Cheers,
Alan.
