“Checking the gangway.” Taken shooting from above on deck 6. I didn’t know what to expect but was fascinated by the contrast of primary color. Sometime an image just speaks to me and I have to capture its voice. As a passenger I had to use gangways to go ashore when moored. The process of setting up a gangway is technical and usually it’s metal and dark and has little interest. I don’t generally crop or edit my photography it’s “au natural” or as I see it. It is the simple contrast that inspires me. I travel with a Leica D-Lux 8, a camera has to fit in my pocket no time to change lenses or do editing. I am not a pro photographer, I studied printmaking not photography. I try and capture the moment there is no place for enhancing my photos.
